According to recent findings by the World Health Organization (WHO)'s cancer agency, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), breast, oral, and cervical cancers accounted for 32% of new cases in India.

Breast cancer stands out as the most prevalent among women, with a staggering 1,92,020 new cases reported, comprising 26.6% of the total. It is closely followed by cervical cancer, with 1,27,526 cases (17.7%). Among men, oral cancer leads with 1,07,812 new cases (15.6%), followed by lung cancer (58,970 cases – 8.5%) and cancer of the esophagus (45,608 – 6.6%).
